| Your Personal Biography |
John Barcus II was born in St Charles IL in 1967. His father was an aviation engineer and mother was a professional artist. He began to paint and draw at age 7 showing a particular love of popular culture. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and Tennessee State University studying fine art painting and graphic design. His painting style is shaped by the teachings of Wolf Kaun and Hans Hoffman. His work during the past 18 years has been abstract and expressionistic and continues to be inspired by the landscape, city life, mythology and heroes. John Barcus currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. |
