Artist Statement:
As an artist, I endeavor to visually convey emotion using a photorealistic, detailed style. My goal is to focus the viewers eye upon the essence of the piece.
I'm alive when I paint. My spirit is lifted to a higher level and I'm connected to the world around me. I try to make you feel the emotion, taste the colors, feel the breeze, smell the air, etc, etc. Hopefully some of these components will be experienced when you view my work....

| Your Personal Biography |
Born and raised in Moncton New Brunswick, Daryl Budd's
devotion to art dates back to his early childhood. Primarily self
taught, Daryl has spent decades experimenting in various mediums.
His passion for acrylic paint, graphite pencil, and more recently
colored pencil, has grown and his paintings are now represented in
various public and private collections across Canada and the United
States
"As a self-taught artist, my work is constantly evolving. I absorb a
great deal of knowledge from books, magazines, articles or
discussions with various artists and I am constantly striving to
improve my art. I am truly a "work in progress" and I intend to
continue my journey of growth in the arts until I reach my full
potential..I've always preferred the challenge of image making
without limiting myself to any particular subject matter. Whether it is
landscapes, figurative, portraits, animals or whatever, I'm compelled
to paint images that interest me. I simply enjoy responding to new
experiences and encounters wherever I find them. Most of my art is
done in realism or in a photo realistic manner. However beyond
simply depicting subjects in a realistic way, I hope each painting has
elements of abstraction as well asoccasionally a touch of humor". |
