Artist Statement:
Mario Balsamo was born October
25 th 1967 in Milan,
self-taught painter, alumnus
advertising designer to Milan,
decides to change road, he
reaches the art for authentic
passion, he learns day after
day, and since 1997 he
intensely works for the art in
professional way.
His figurative art puts in
scene the thea ter of our most
secluded identities, that only
the painting can make to
emerge, without fears with the
simplicity of the deepest
truths.
The pictures of Mario Balsamo
are flash, fragments of life
in unstable balance between
the methodic realism of the
execution and the ability to
maintain the fantastic part
through atmospheres and small
signs, anonymous details that
are camouflaged with a
surrounding environment that
allows the spectator to
analyze the work never falling
in the banality and that they
turn his pictures into hidden
enigmas from the innumerable
interpretations here and
there.
His works are almost always
constituted by a principal
element - always from a human
figure that dominates the
central part of the picture
and from used details, more
intentionally, to put in
crisis our inalienable
safeties.
He lives and works between
Rome and Bali.
