Carlos Clara was born in Covilhã, Portugal.
At the end of 1960´s he changes up to Lisbon to study painting and later to New York where he studied at Art Students League. After he travels extensively in Europe. Middle East. Asia, Africa and Americas.
With the age of 18 begins to show his painting in group and later in personal exhibitions. He exhibited in Portugal, Switzerland and Thailand. The artist´s painting is also represented in United States, France, Spain and Morocco in public and private collections.
