Artist Statement:
I have been an artist at heart for as long as I can remember, yet it's only in retirement that I've had time to pursue my passion. Watercolor and pastels are currently my preferred media, although I have also worked in oils in the past. I am a strong believer in lifelong learning and continue to take classes in painting at every opportunity. Among the best instructors I've ever studied under is Kathy Esch, who continues to be an inspiration to me.

Traveling and collecting images via photography to paint. Painting these special images always takes me right back to the original time and place, allowing me to re-live some of my happiest memories! |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I have loved to draw and paint ever since I was a child, but was discouraged from pursuing an art career because I am color challenged. Instead I became a writer and editor ... and eventually, a public relations counselor, writing and editing from the other side of the fence, including ghostwriting. I picked up the paint brush again about six years ago, when I signed up for a watercolor class at a community art center. That triggered my passion for art and renewed my creative spirit! I have been spending almost every spare moment since painting, or taking photographs to paint. |
