Artist Statement:
Vernacular culture surrounds us but is little noted. When it is noted, it is not placed on the same level as �high� culture. Perhaps its ephemeral nature confines its importance. But, despite this, it has more impact on our daily lives.
Photographers were among the first to recognize the importance of vernacular culture: it is the source of their best work. The camera made it possible to record the vernacular in exquisite detail. And the detail is the message.

I am an independent artist marketing my own work through a number of different outlets. I am a member of San Francisco Open Studios, and have prints from this series for rent or purchase at the SF Museum of Modern Art's Artist Gallery (Ft. Mason Center, Bldg. A). I also show at select galleries and exhibition spots throughout the year.
