The technique of carving
marble evolves over time.
Every project is a unique
challenge. Every piece of
stone is different and has its
own concealed secret. A
mistake in carving cannot be
taken back and sometimes leads
to changing the composition. I
have enjoyed this process of
taking away to reveal what is
hidden inside.

Dino Galiano started carving marble at the age of 15 and is self taught. A graduate of Rutgers College 83' with a major in art history. Influenced primarily by Michelangelo, other sculptors of interest include: Pisano, Ghiberti, Donatello, Jacopo della Quercia , Sansovino and Bernini. |
