About Artist
Charlotte, a native of Richmond, Virginia, relocated to north central West Virginia with her family in 1974. Charlotte's Studio, located in scenic Lost Creek, is where she creates and markets her original oil paintings, limited edition prints, Iris Gicleés, original graphics, and provides custom framing. A professional, self-taught artist, her work has earned numerous awards and has received recognition on a national level for her commissioned work. Charlotte's work is widely published. The State of West Virginia has published some thirty of her wildlife paintings in their annual Division Of Natural Resources Wildlife Calendar. She has generously contributed her talent and works to causes close to her heart; People's Hospice, American Lung Association, Duck's Unlimited, West Virginia Health Right, Inc., Clarksburg Historic Society and numerous other non-profit organizations. Charlotte's work can be seen throughout West Virginia in various State Parks, gift shops and selected galleries. Working in a preferred medium of oils, extensive research goes into each of her pieces, ranging from sketching, painting, and photography on location.
Charlotte has been invited to teach art in the local schools as well as the local library, as a guest artist / instructor.
Objective
Charlotte, best known for her photo realistic detail, is able to maintain a fine balance between the technical and the emotional aspect of her subjects throughout each and every piece. Her style touches both children and adults. .? I want the viewer to feel a sense of being able to walk into the scene, touch the wildlife, and enjoy our wonderful world of nature?, says Charlotte.
