Artist Statement:
The interaction of people with
each other and their
environment is the constant
thread that weaves throughout
my work.
As one reads a novel their
imagination fills in the
visual content. In my works I
invite the viewer create their
own dialogue. Time and
contemplation from the viewer
extends this an ongoing
dialogue.
The works are figurative with
some distortion. There is
stillness within the works
complexities. Use of strong
colour and patterning create
chaos while line cements the
work.
A range of mediums and their
supports behave differently.
In my works I like to show
these differences, hence the
diversity of the finished
product.

CHRIS ROWE BIOGRAPHY
Victorian artist Chris Rowe has been exhibiting consistently since 1985.
Drawing on life experiences and many years nursing her work works are rich in content, texture and feeling. The interaction of people with each other and their environment is the constant thread that weaves throughout her work.
Awards
Chris has won several awards her most recent as winner of 2011 Swiss & Italian Festa Landscape Art Prize, work entitled -Roo Watch #2 2010
Career Highlights
-the installation of the interactive mural, Four Seasons 2007, in the Sandringham Hospital Emergency Department, 193 Bluff Rd, Sandringham, February 2007
- New works exhibited in Hamburg, Germany during July and August 2007
- 5 Solo Exhibitions 2001 – 2008, Snippets 91 – Now 2008 being the most recent.
- Winner 1998 Visual Arts Award, Cancer Council, Vic, work entitled- Open Cut 1997
- Notable acquisitions by the ANF (Vic Branch) in 1994 and in 2005 ANSELL Corporation
