Artist Statement:
Caasi combines oil-based industrial pigments and solutions that link to the world of two poles, chance and control. The artist explores the chemical, physical and thermal qualities of industrial solutions specifically oil, being that its trade value in modernization and its natural destructive force as well.
From distant examination, Caasi's images threatens to dissolve. Seemingly obstinate stains caused by changing degrees of chemical solution similar to results of human instrusion as "passive aggression", figuratively diverts and immensely changes nature. The artist dwells on the dialectic process by revealing and concealing the natural quality and complexion of the surface's material thereby increasing our awareness to the state of specificity and necessity.
(Caasi takes us to this uniquely vital journey into the basic human issue of finding the essence of home within life on this earth with respect to our environmental challenges.)
