Statement:
Since September 11, 2001 there emerged a significant shift in my works. Rather than displaying gruesome or haunting images of the events of that day, I found myself creating small watercolors of imaginary botanicals. I found that they became a great release for me, but in a way, they also became a retreat from reality. They quickly became a vehicle where I was able to combine both a style of subconscious, automatic painting, with a calculated infusion of themes, figuration, and conceptual ideas. Many examples of these and additional works can be found on my site at www.picturemaker.com.
Additional themes available: Mythology, Adam and Eve, The Three Graces, Saturn, Artist and Model, and water. ...
