SHORT BIOGRAPHY
CLAUDIU VICTOR GHEORGHIU
My name is GHEORGHIU CLAUDIU VICTOR and I was born in 1967, in Bucharest, ROMANIA.
I am Romanian orthodox and I live in Bucharest.
In 1998 I took the master degree at University from Bucharest ,the Faculty of History- universal old history section- with theme (CONSTANTIN the GREAT and CHRISTIANITY) at professor LIGIA BARZU.).
In 1991 I graduated ART SCHOOL , PAINTING section with TITU DRAGUTESCU.
In 1982 I graduated MUSIC and PLASTIC ART SCHOOL no.2 with teachers TITU DRAGUTESCU, GHEORGHE ARDELEANU and ION MINOIU.
I paint sacred pictures because I have a strong believe in GOD. I want that my icons on wood to be a connection between Occidental and Oriental Christianity, because I think in Universal Christianity, SAINT TRINITY is the same for all Christians. It have published over 100 articles in magazines and newspapers from Romania and Italy, and more articles of art criticism made by Ana Dobjanschi, Costion Nicolescu, Vasile Borila, , Dragos Ciobanu, Paul Dudea, Roxana Pasculescu Oratie, Mihai Precup, Aurel Manea in ROMANIA, Iolanda Pietrobelli, Federico Bellini, Giuseppe Pilu, Elisabeta Caporali, Luigi Meneghini, Sveva Battifoglia in ITALY, presentation on TV about Claudiu Victor Gheorghiu’s creations. Author of over 1500 icons on wood, many of them present in museums and private art collections in Romania and abroad.

2004, June/July-I have the third personal exhibition in Bucharest,at ArTei Gallery, organizated by Romanian Artists Union, named THE APOSTLES, curator COSTION NICOLESCU, theologian .
June/July 2007- I have the fourth personal exhibition in Bucharest, at Galateea Gallery organizated by UAP, named THE MARTYRIZATION OF THE APOSTLES.
December 2007/January 2008-personal exhibition at Silva gallery, Busteni, curators ROXANA PASCULESCU ORATIE, art critic and MIHAI PRECUP from UAP.
Personal Exhibitions in Italy:
I was the Guest of honour, representing Romania, with icons on wood, during the 15th-30th of June, 2003 at Pisa, Italy, at Artestate 2003 - Miracoli d'arte Citta di Pisa, organizated by Spazio d'arte-Proposte Culturali Association, La Spina Art Gallery and Pisa Townhall.
6-27 October 2006- my personal exhibition named THE ICONS, sacred pictures in contemporary world, at Cinema Theatre VITTORIA Art Gallery - my reference gallery in Italy from October 2006, Gramsci place no.2, organizated by mr. SILVANO FARLONI, my art manager in ITALY and townhall of Viadana (Mantova province).

In may 2001 I participated at the 26th Rassegna Internazionale La Telaccia d`oro, 2001 at Torino, Sacred Art section and I was selected in final fase.
In june 2002 I participated at the 27th Rassegna Internazionale ¯La Telaccia d`oro 2002 at Torino, Renaissance or Decline in Art section and I was selected in final fase (details in the Magazine Arte¯, october 2002, no. 350, page 207).
I participated at Premio Arte 2002, Premio Arte 2003,Premio Arte 2004, Painting section, Milan, Italy.
I was selected in the final fase at Premio Pisa 2003 and at Premio Gardeschi¯, Painting Section at Montevarchi (Arezzo), Italy, April 2003.
I was selected in final fase at Premio Orazio Gentileschi¯, Pisa, Painting Section, December 2003.
In July/August 2006 I have been selected and I participated at Premio TAORMINA, Sicily, Italy, where I received with my icon on wood THE LAST SUPPER Special Prize of the Critic¯, my icon it was exposed at Corvaja Palace from Taormina and it's published in the july/august 2006 number of Arte BOE review.
In December 2006 I have been selected and I participated at 2 Premio BOE Palermo, Sicily, Italy, where I received with my icon on wood ST. LUKE WITH SCENES FROM HIS LIFE¯ Special Prize of the Critic¯, my icon it was exposed at Il Tempio gallery from Palermo in february 2007.

1998-I was invited to exhibit icons on wood and painted eggs at Romanian Peasant Museum, at the annual Holiday Craft Fair.
2000, December and in 2001, december-I was invited at World Trade Plaza (Sofitel Hotel) with icons on wood at The 6th and The 7th Edition of Holiday Craft Fair, organized by ATA and United States` Embassy.
2002, November-I participated at The 8th Edition of Holiday Craft Fair, organized by ATA and Bucharest Grand Marriott Hotel.
September 2002,2003,2004,2005,2007 -I participated at the Exhibition dedicated to Romanian Religious Painters, organizated by Romanian Peasant Museum.
2006-two group exhibitions in Bucharest with religious art, the first at TC Art Gallery in January and the second named ANGELS AND SAINTS-in april, organizated by Arte e Arta foundation.

1999, November-Exhibition in Italy, Pompei, at the Annual Mostra D`artigianato Religioso and participation at the Exhibition dedicated to Romania, Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2000 I had exhibit at Itinerary Exhibition with icons in Japan.
2002, September and October-I participated at two important exhibition at Pisa, Italy, organizated by La Spina Art Gallery, my reference gallery in Northern and Central Italy during the period 2002-2004. In the period 10-13 of December 2004 I was selected and I participated at Reggio-Emilia at IMMAGINA 6¯,art director Renzo Mezzacapo,stand n.C 53.

Selected by Internal Committee of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art to participate at the sixth and seventh edition of the exhibition, from the 1st to the 9th of December 2007, 2009 in the historical Fortezza da Basso in Florence, ITALY.
I was selected at the 2nd ART INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL , Patras-GREECE, curator Panagiotis Milt. Zervas ; during the period 9-16 April 2010, I will participate at the section of Festival: 2nd International Symposium of painting.I will painting 'THE MARTYRIZATION OF ST. I paint sacred pictures since 1990. During the period 1992-1994, I was the manager of Coleus Modern Art Gallery.
