Artist Statement:
My artistry celebrates life, that which is the highest and unavoidable mystery of our maker. Paralleled to life, divinity has placed time as one of God’s creations in which man enters and exits.
Man’s existence in time is my definitive in reflection: quest of recollection, expression and love of man. I confirm that art improves life and surreptitiously weaves, step by step, the movement of material culture. Thus, creating one spectacular creation of which is life itself. Only the soul of art can triumph over changing times.
My obligation, goal and destiny through my art, is to strive for human dignity and freedom. This struggle is validated through the freedom built on hope that is defined, not explained, but expressed through pastures of galloping horses. Through this first phase on the cycle of man, civilization and horse I make my contribution, into the vast oceans, of human struggle and knowledge that have evolved throughout the centuries. The struggle is hard but there is no greater challenge: the creative scenes of the past are represented in harmony with the present and future, depicting a hymn of many voices of which I am proud to have a contribution.

The artist Georgi Danevski was born in 1947 in the Republic of Macedonia. In 1972 he graduated from the University of Fine Arts Ljubljana, in Slovenia, with extensive studies in the class of Zoran Didek and Gabriel Stupica.
In order to refine his art of painting and broaden his knowledge, Georgi Danevski spent two years abroad in extended studies. He traveled to Germany, Spain, Nederland, France, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, and Italy broadening and enhancing his talents while personally discovering the talents of the great masters.
Danevski is the creator of wide spectrum of expressions in the style of Easel and mural paintings. A great number of European museums and art galleries own and exhibit a great variety of his paintings. There is also a wide and steady demand for his art by private collectors.
He has had many individual exhibitions and is the recipient of numerous awards in Europe. Several documentaries have been filmed about his work – one of which is “The Icons God’s Eyes” filmed in cooperation with the Vatican and the Italian Television RAI, in collaboration with the Film Company San Paolo.
Georgi Danevski is a master and a reformer of Byzantine art, which characterizes one aspect of his artistic work. His interpretations can be found in numerous of churches including St. Clement of Ohrid Cathedral in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia; St. Clement of Ohrid Cathedral in Toronto, Canada; St. Dimitrija Solunski Church in Markham, Canada; St. Nedela in Ajax, Canada; St. Ciril and Metodij in Bafalo, USA; St. Mother Mary - Bogorodica in Berovo, Macedonia; St. Mary - Mala Bogorodica in Cambridge, Canada, and many other churches in Macedonia, Canada and USA.
Presently, Georgi Danevski resides in Toronto, Canada; his artwork is on exhibit in many art galleries in Toronto, and all over the world.
