About Artist:
The Artist is a self-taught SCULPTOR. The artist’s childhood and greater time of youth have been greatly influenced by the strong artistic ambience of Bishnupur, Bankura. The varieties of handicrafts which are the unique culture of this part of rural Bengal in the form of Terracota Art, Balucharis, Decorative Lantern etc., have been great source of inspiration of the artist to be deeply introspective for coming out with a unique creative art which may be different in form, but shall uphold the tradition of cultural face of rural Bengal Handicraft from purely natural resources. He has developed an intense artistic mind which goes on developing wooden sculpture & figures from discarded tree roots as well as its branches. The figures resemble various types of objects and human figures, animal figures etc. that we come across in our life.
