Artist Statement:
I try to remain open to all images or visual combinations that inspire me.
One consistent element is that my paintings usually involve a process of building up layers through numerous revisions. I often paint over canvases several times, leaving portions of the paintings underneath partly visible. Covering an existing painting rather than starting from a blank canvas can lead to more unusual or interesting compositions by forcing me to make certain choices in responding to the material. The built up layers of paint create a rich surface that becomes an active element, revealing the process of experimentation and revision....

| Your Personal Biography |
I am an artist currently based in Los Angeles, CA, primarily working in painting, photography and mixed media.
I began painting and drawing in the summer of 2000, studying with David Schoffman at the Brentwood Art Center. While attending Pomona College, I studied philosophy, music and poetry, before deciding to pursue a career as an artist. I later became an art major, studying with Enrique Martinez Celaya and Mercedes Teixido.
While the greatest impact on my work has been my own life, my formal studies in art and background in other fields have also influenced my work. I am also a composer, and my music is available at this website.
