| Your Personal Biography |
For more than twenty years I have worked in one of the oldest art forms to use fire – the art of glassmaking. My passion for this art form is evident in the nearly 7000 individual stained and fused glass pieces that have come from the light that is my inspiration. When sand and fire meet, the transformation is purely magical.
Whether I am creating in a functional or non-functional sense, each piece is made by a different means, a different technique, and of course a different personal taste. The essential identity is found when light and colour provide a striking contrast between materials and space.
With stained glass, I strive to create different dimensions from the flat surfaces offering radiant visual effects. In fusing glass, particularly while mixing different materials, I feel the magic of a long cultural tradition. As a stained glass designer I can say, glass is beautiful, I enjoy working with this medium. As a fused glass designer I can feel the glass warm my soul as I create a new piece of art.
I have always been fascinated by the means in which glass is an integral part of architecture and art. My glass is always designed with the purpose of enhancing our lives, our environment and experiences.
