| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I've been painting since I was 3 years old and love painting. I have a real passion for it all my life and continue to paint to make myself happy with the artworks I create. Some of these are self portraits as Geishas expressing the sensuality of women. |

| Your Personal Biography |
Dulcie Dee, a native New Yorker excelled as an art major at Fiorello La Guardia H.S. of Music and the Arts. Her passion for drawing escalated when she won 1st prize for the NYC Anti-Drug Abuse poster contest that inspired her to pursue the arts as her life career.
Dee received her MFA from The Academy of Art University, SF and her BFA (Cum Laude) from The University of the Philippines.
During her studies at UP, she traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia and fell in love with snorkeling in the Philippines. She discovered the unique underwater world of their coral reefs. Mesmerized by the beauty she intimately experienced the incredible color range of their marine life. Her “Marine Dreams” series premiered at the Hiraya Gallery in Manila capturing her joyful discovery of this rapidly eroding Philippine eco-treasure.
International reviews in popular magazines such as ‘Asiaweek’, ‘Taipan’, ‘Filipinas’ and ‘Transpacific’ featured Dee's efforts to alert the public to the conservation of its delicate coral reefs.
Her work is a Zen fusion of East and West. Each painting pulsates with rich, vibrant, tropical colors painted with clarity, precision and with a free-flowing sense of subject, shade and color. Just as entrancing as her seascapes are her enigmatic paintings of lovely, demure yet sensuous Geishas revealing the erotic sensuality of the female body.
Connoisseurs and lovers of nature from more than 14 countries, including the US, Philippines, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Germany, France, and Bermuda have purchased her sensuous paintings for their private collections.
