Biggest Artistic Inspiration Gazing at my reflection in the toilet. Sculpting multi-grain, monolithic totems of marvel with a zippy colon.

Actually, if I had to list a group of folks that have inspired my thoughts and work, this would be my 'Dirty Dozen': Fellini, Kubrick, Hitchcock, Dali, Warhol, Murakami, Bradbury, Rod Serling, Chuck Palahniuk, Joseph Campbell, Kim Novak, and the zany genius of Monty Python.

Most importantly mi familia :)

Why Did You Become An Artist I think Dali said it best:

"Art is a weapon of war engaged by desire in its battle for supremacy against the principles of reality."

Press Synopsis: “In this vivid and raw collection of work, James Dinverno captures the spirit of twentieth-century life. Packed with potent images of decay, abuse, conflict, intimacy, and pain, this is a thought provoking portrait of humanity - one that explores the baseness as well as the miracle of mankind. Fast and furious, aggressive and agitated, this work is neither condemnatory nor celebratory, but lays bare the perils of modern existence. An eclectic blend of poetry and prose, comedy and tragedy, the immediate and the historical, Sanctum is provocative, startling, and vibrant.”
Institutional copies: British Library and University of Oxford holdings.
