| Your Personal Biography |
I was born in one of worlds melting pots and meeting points: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And although life, art and love brought me to distant places, for me Brazil has always been the place to be.
As beauty has no frontiers, however, Ive been living in other countries as well: Mexico, USA, Italy, China and, since 2003, The Netherlands. I was very lucky to grow up in an artistic environment. From my first childhood my mother, Myra Landau, a painter well-known in Latin America, taught me how to see the essence of things.
I graduated in Visual Arts at San Carlos Academy, a department of the National Autonomous University of Mexico City.
The last decades I have been active in various fields: photography, graphic design, silkscreen, stained glass, and glass scuptures.
Beauty is the thing I love most. But not beauty for beautys sake alone. I feel that real beauty couldnt exist without interior harmony. I try to express this feeling in my work. Photography has always been my passion. My first camera was a Nikkormat, passing then to a Nikon FM2. Now I work with a Nikon F5, but in this digital age I love also my Sony DCR-R1.
I have been working as a freelance photographer for newspapers, magazines, and books. I had the privilege of exhibiting my Chinese pictures in the Dutch Central Bank in Amsterdam.
With my glass assemblages I participated in the National Contest of Young Artists in Mexico, winning the first prize.
