Born in the Seaport of Veracruz, Mexico.
He studied drawing and painting in the school of art from INBA and the Institute of Culture of Veracruz (IVEC).
He also studied in the Faculty of Visual Arts of the Universidad Veracruzana in the City of Xalapa, where he obtained a scholarship for his academic achievement and an artistic productive scholarship, as well he obtained his Bachelor Degree. Romero also obtained a scholarship from the IVEC in the category of Young Creators. He collaborated with the artist Sol Levenson in the execution of a Commemorative Mural for the 50th Anniversary of the Universidad Veracruzana, which took place in the Central Building, and was financed by the Fullbrigth Foundation. After of the university he develops his professional practice in the Museum of Anthropology of Xalapa collaborating for 2 years in the restoration of pre-Columbian murals.
In his work uses a personal technique that he developed more of fifteen years ago. This technique involves the use of white plasticized cement over a surface of wood or canvas, after this, Romero uses acrylic to paint its subject matter, finally he applies a Judean varnish. |
