Artist Statement:
I have been extending and contemporizing the tradition of painting for over a decade bringing together tragic and compassionate images to achieve harmony. The imagery articulates a vision of my observations of the world as I chronicle ways in which people assimilate within tragic events. Violence leaves us alienated and disturbed, and yet, paradoxically brings us closer together.
The sensuousness of the painterly process and the employment of formal techniques allow detachment from the dismal content to achieve the state of impartiality and artistic objectivity. The process and the final message of the images strive to unify in the end. ...

| Your Personal Biography |
I have lived in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina through turbulent ex-Yugoslavian war, and left Dubrovnik, Croatia in 1997. After spending six months in Norrkoping, Sweden, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1998. Graduate degree took me to Savannah, GA for a couple years, but I am back in Phoenix again.
My art education was long and thorough. Luka Sorkocevic Art Gymnasium in Dubrovnik, Croatia sharpened my drawing skills and ability to see, while in undergraduate studies at Arizona State University (BFA in Painting, summa cum laude) and graduate studies at Savannah College of Art and Design (MFA in Painting) I found my voice as an artist.
I have been exhibiting nationally and internationally. My work has recently been selected for a juried exhibition '31st Bradley International' in Illinois, and I am a featured artist in NEW AMERICAN PAINTINGS, issue 70. Look me up in this magazine in major US bookstores in June.
