Artist Statement:
I am a ceramics artist and
painter. I am a hand builder
with an interest in floral
designs derived from my
garden. As a painter I also
find inspiration in floral
subjects. As well I draw
inspiration from special
places, and from cross
cultural designs. I find that
I unconsciously often
incorporate Asian design in my
ceramics. The influence comes
from the Asian interest,
historically, used in French
and English ceramic design.
I hand build in medium
temperature clay, using
undercoat painting and clear
glazes. I am also
experimenting with opaque
glazes with some movement in
the glazes which work nicely
with the painted work. In my
painting I use acrylics on
canvas. I like to experiment
with different size canvases.
I always push to realize my
interior vision with my
exterior work....
