| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I've always been an artist. Since I was old enough to hold crayons, I accompanied my mother (artist Muriel Bernier) when she painted en plein air. I can't remember a time in my life when I wasn't drawing or painting or making some kind of art. |

| Your Personal Biography |
My official bio:
eileen eilis morey is a third-generation artist born in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
From earliest childhood, Eileen was immersed in the art world.
Eileen was raised in Belmont, Massachusetts and summer'd in Rye and Wentworth-by-the-Sea, New Hampshire.
She sold her first art dolls at age 13. Within a year, she was also a professional illustrator. She attended Colby-Sawyer College (Class of '71) and then studied art history at Harvard University.
In the mid-1970s, when she wasn't working in fashion, she studied art at Mission: Renaissance in Los Angeles.
In the late 1970s, Eileen's quilts appeared in Quilter's Newsletter magazine, and her art (and articles) were featured in Professional Quilter magazine and on CNN.
In the 1980s, you may have seen or purchased her quilts, wall hangings, and art dolls at these galleries and shops:
- Harbor Browsery, York Harbor, Maine
- Maple Hill Pottery in Perkins Cove, Ogunquit & Auburn, Maine
- Abacus Gallery, Boothbay Harbor, Maine
- The Friend, Wiscasset, Maine
- Twas the Night, Northeast Harbor, Maine
- Jaffrey & Chase, Blue Hill, Maine
- The Carriage Shop, Sullivan, Maine
In the early 1990s, her quilts and wall hangings were exhibited--and won awards--in Salt Lake City, Utah. Eileen also gained attention for her 'renegade art doll classes' in Centerville, Utah. During this time, she studied with fabric artist elinor peace bailey, a kindred spirit.
In the mid-1990s, Eileen's oil paintings earned awards in Lexington, Massachusetts and York Harbor, Maine.
She currently lives in Texas and is working on a series of projects, including oil landscapes in a neo-Impressionist style including Luminist-like skies, some semi-abstract works, and Artist Sketch Cards.
