Artist Statement:
My love of nature and the
world we live in is
demonstrated by the works of
art that I paint. I use oils
and watercolor and also love
photography. I have been
painting for many years, have
taken various art instruction
courses, but my training is
mostly self-taught. I love to
paint realistic animals and
landscapes, but once in a
while I will deviate to the
whimsical painting....

A native of North Carolina, Ellen E Hinson painted mostly as a hobby until her retirement to Colorado, where she is actively pursuing her passion for art.
Ellen specializes in realistic landscapes and wildlife, occasionally deviating to whimsical art. From the lowlands of the southeast, to the Great Smoky Mountains, to the Rocky Mountains of the great west, comes her inspiration. A love of wildlife and nature is portrayed in her artwork.
She is mostly a self-taught artist, but has received formal training from various art classes and instructors. Her work is collected throughout the country. |
