Biography of Arturo Morín:
The Mexican painter Arturo Morín, was born in the City of Mexico in 1953--. He studied the Degree of Architecture in the Independent National University of Mexico and from 1980, to date, he has dedicated his time to the architecture and the plastic arts; this last one of self-taught form.
The artist centers his devotion in the painting and although also he has incursioned in worlds of the sculpture and the art object. Definitively is the expression of the figure through an extraordinary handling of the color, which distinguishes the Mexican painter like one of the great artists of the present time.
The diverse works of Arturo represent subjects that go from the daily things to imaginative and the unsuspectedly audacious things. The peculiar way with which the painter has managed to use techniques like: acrylic pastel, charcoal, enamels, oil and acrylics on different materials like: paper,canvas, wood and cantera,is a clear demonstration of the abilities of the artist, in addition to which sincere, subtle and intelligent the impact that produces in the spectator is.
From 1982, Arturo has participated in 80 individual and collective exhibitions, as much in Mexico as abroad, (E.U.A, Holland, Austria, Spain, Chile and Argentina among others). Its work has been exhibited in different galleries, at the moment he is requested to participate in Agora Gallery Soho New York, one of the best galleries at world-wide level In 1990 he initiated the presentation of his work in auctions and in, 2005 he was selected for the Biennial of Arad in Rumania. He participated in XIII the PAINTING BIENNIAL TAMAYO in 2006
To date, the Mexican painter has made more than 2500 original paintings using different materials and diverse techniques that have been developing throughout the years.
He is considered within the 100 alive most important painters in Mexico, recognition that gives the Instituto de Bellas Artes.
The painting of Arturo Morín can make us imagine new worlds or return us to worlds already imagined, where as simple figures as: the animals, the humans and always (almost without exception), the moon, are the forms that operate the imagination.
