Focused on the coexistence between silence and dynamic, my main aim is to depict the human face as concentrated as possible and arrive at an image of intense energy and elegance. My ideas come from the esoteric conceptof ‘dynamic meditation’,which is executed when one is in a state of heightened awareness and conscious presence. Here, one is to feel a deep stillness, peace and joy, but simultaneously experiences sensations of intense aliveness, power and radiance.
Influenced by the German Expressionism of my home country, I have always been interested in the colorful representation of the figure.Whilst studying for my BA(Hons) at Northbrook College Sussex, I felt drawn to develop ambiguous body forms engaged in enigmatic actions and by fusing the real with the dreamlike, my work has essentially become, what I believe to be a potential representation of our true nature seen from the perspective of metaphysics. My work thus carries a certain spiritual connotation as it strives to picture an ideal of harmony, balance and stability within the human being in an otherwise ever faster moving world. ...

Artist Reviews:
“Annett is a very talented fine artist, who worked incredibly hard to move herself from full-time employed to full-time artist. She produces an extensive range of vibrant semi-abstract canvases which are full of expression and life. I would highly recommend Annett as she is professional, efficient, and...

| Your Personal Biography |
After gaining my BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art Painting in 2007 from the University of Brighton,UK, I now work successfully as a freelance artist. I have won entry into the 'TOP 100' exhibition at the Jealous Gallery in London and participated via the curator Art Adict with my semi-abstract figurative paintings at the 'Cambridge Art Fair'. I will be represented by clase Contemporary fine art dealers and the Orion Gallery London at the 'Buy Art' Fair in Manchester in September, as well as at the 'Affordable Art Fair' in London in October 2009.
In 2008 I was recognized as one of UK’s Best Graduates by the SaLon Gallery in Notting Hill and exhibited at the 'Midsummer Art Fair'at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington, London.I continously receive much interest for my figurative paintings- especially during the annual‘Open Houses’ at the international Arts Festival in Brighton. I currently work closely with the Saffron Gallery in Battle, who represents a selection of my large, abstract paintings. Previous to my degree studies I received a 'Distinction’ diploma in Art & Design Foundation. |
