The freedom and honesty that encompasses you are out there amongst the elements is one of life’s great constants. Timeless and truthful, in essence we are stripped back and become the timekeepers of our own bodies and in the shadow of the vast power of nature’.
We only catch tiny signs of human life in Emma’s paintings, a glimpse of a sail boat, a row of planted olive trees, a small dwelling amongst a field of flowers set against the immense back drop of mountains.
In today’s hectic and visually overloading society, Emma Carter’s vast and open compositions provide a visual escape into a serene and ethereal world. Emma hopes that the free spirit in all of us is evoked by looking at her pictures.
Influences are also from the impressionist movement from artists such as Pissarro, Monet and the incredible expressionist Van Gogh.
Emma was born in London in 1972. She began her career as an artist after graduating from Middlesex University with a BA Honours degree in Fine Art. She has moved from London to live by the sea on the English Riviera with her husband Dave and her children Luke and Leilani. She now works from Blue Haze Studios refining the art of using oils and acrylics. She has produced numerous pieces for galleries and solo exhibitions, corporate commissions and private collections worldwide.
