| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
Other artists, both past, present, famous and not so famous. When I think about feminism, I am at my most inspired. I feel it's important for male and female artists to be defined seperately because their journeys through history have been so different. I am proud to be a woman artist free to express myself however I like and this drives my passion. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I became an artist firstly to try and satisfy my insane urge to create. Even though I doubt this will ever be possible, it is something I am willing to devote my life to working toward! |

| Your Personal Biography |
Emma Henley is a Welsh Artist living and working in South Wales. She was born and grew up in Newport and is fascinated with creating works rooted in her surroundings and hometown. She is currently working in Acrylic Paint and her work often adopts styles and poses from fashion advertisement.
She has exhibited work at a number of locations around Newport, and most recently exhibited in the group show ‘Ffloc’, as part of Free Range 2008 at the Old Truman Brewery site on Hanbury Street, London.
She is very interested in the way city women interact with the environment, and her work often reflects what it is like to live amidst vast regeneration of her home and the ‘glamour’ tinged with loneliness of living in the city.
“I became an artist to try and satisfy my insane urge to create. Even though I doubt this will ever be possible, it is something I am willing to devote my life to working toward.”
