INFINITY
The night sky has been a constant source of inspiration for me since childhood. The notion of the endless expanse and the mystery of the unknown coupled with the infinite possibilities that the universe holds has captured my imagination on a creative and intellectual level.
"Infinity" is my first major series of works developed since my series of paintings titled "Oil Well Fires" produced while earning my B.A. in Art from California State University at Humboldt in 2006.
Consisting of oil on canvas, Infinity explores a visual interpretation of "events" in space, drawing from my youthful imagination and ongoing interest in all things scientific as well as my formal training as a painter from a contemporary perspective. What this series conveys is an abstraction of a limitless reality. The compositions are comprised of explosions of color and form and movement of light. The darkest pool of black space are speckled with fragments of light-filled stars. They are a representation of my connection to and reverence for the great mysteries of the universe.

| Your Personal Biography |
-I am a painter, photographer, & small business owner {Triton Design & Art Co. since July 2006} in Eureka California. This is the beginning of my career. My lifetime goal is to create 5000 pieces of art. As an artist, reality, and the new world of technology keeps me busy exploring the evolving technology driven lifestyle around us. I am influenced by almost every period of art from the last 500 years. I am inspired by everything. Ideas come from all subjects. I find art, technology, history, pop culture, writing of all kinds, film, & music. I am inspired by the individual success of others no matter what their field.
-Currently, elements of surrealism, abstractionism, pop art, realism can all be found in my work. After taking in all the influences and historical knowledge in an ever-growing ever learning environment I adapt to and include the power of technology boosting my ability to create ideas and alternative versions. Thus allowing for experimentation of composition without sacrificing large amounts of time.
-I was born in Northern California in 1976. Attended HSU from 2003-06, earning a BA in Painting, Photography, & Art Edu. Attended Shasta College 2001-02 where I majored in football, College of the Redwoods 1997 & again in 2001, as well as Santa Rosa Junior College 1996-97. Currently I am building a stronger portfolio, & taking on consignments. I also am building my C.V.
-I did not always plan on being an artist, although I possess a natural ability to draw and have been aware of this talent from the age of 11. I played music in working bands from 2001 until 2008, this experience fed my creativity and has helped me think more freely about what is art, & how can I make an evolution to something original. |
