Artist Statement:
My medium of choice is
acrylic, and pastels. My
palette is a mixture of earth
tones, cool pastels, and vivid
primary colors that focus on
styles, texture, and form. My
paintings are evocative of the
great Picasso in geometry and
form; yet display a truly
unique approach. I am a
member of, and affiliated with
several art organizations, and
societies throughout the DFW
Metroplex. The paintings of
Earnest 'Ernie' Benton are
enjoyed by many, and hang in
many fine homes across the
United States including
Virginia, West Virginia,
Maryland, Illinois, Indiana,
Ohio, Missouri, Texas,
Tennessee, and Florida, and in
the collection at Northlake
College, Irving, TX.

| Your Personal Biography |
Earnest “Ernie” Benton, Jr., was born in Chicago, IL. I am a self-taught artist who has been actively involved in artistic pursuits most of my life. Through the years, I have worked to develop my distinctive artistic style and craft producing several notable pieces, some by special request for private auctions and individuals. My wife, and I now reside in North Texas, where I continue to pursue my artistic endeavors. Earnest’s paintings have been used for Local and National Juried Art Exhibition's advertisement, and he has competed in, and won several art competitions throughout the DFW Metroplex area, while gaining a solid reputation as an artist. |
