Color and painting are my first love, my first language. My passion for painting is coupled with a curiosity and an intense drive to discover new realities and to reveal discovered truths as energy patterns on canvas. I create art that shapes consciousness. My work is not about something, it is something. The paintings reaffirm the magic and the power of art to influence perception and understanding. These dynamic and compelling paintings create a symphony of wholeness which invite you to become one with the cosmos.
Images can expand understanding and move people. My surfaces of shimmering translucency with sculptural presence weave a magic through acrylic and oil glazes and painterly techniques which couch the impact of the work. While some paintings show a fluidity of brilliant colors which reveal a methodical flow of paint, structured by lines and building patterns of shifting forms, others build and build on the impastoed surfaces until an amazing amount of tension is reached between the surface, scale and implied space. | Why Did You Become An Artist |
Painting is my first language, color my first love. When I first picked up a brush, I felt I had come home.
I believe each of us is profoundly affected by viewing and/or making art. It opens us up to a part within otherwise not available to us; the part of us that is innately whole. To provide access to this holy place is my joy and my job. |
