Artist Statement for Francesca Hare

|
While my paintings are abstract, in most the suggestion of an aerial landscape lurks in the background. I have a flexible and a fluid approach to the process of constructing an image. I choose lush colors that I try to weigh on the canvas. I attach meaning to brush strokes: sometimes airy, sometimes weighty, somtimes wiry, and sometimes a twisting plane.
