Artist Statement:
What can I say, I am in love
with expression. I find it
deeply satisfying when a human
being finds a way to devote
his/herself to a form of
expression. I don't know that
it matters what the form is,
or even what is expressed, it
is how it is expressed that
matters to me....

Biggest Artistic Inspiration Nature, The world around me, and a really strong feeling that it is art that helps mankind reflect upon the beauty and depth of existence.

Why Did You Become An Artist My grandfather was a metal sculptor, and a painter. Early on in my life he began to teach me the tools of the trade. I think something in his graceful manner and his love of life and the arts really resonated with me. I have always known that I was an artist.

Your Personal Biography I come from a family of artists and musicians. I remember being five and drawing a really thick black crayon outline around a piece I was working on and getting this amazing feeling. I knew I was an artist then, I proved it to my family shortly thereafter by making a life sized mural in crayon directly on my wall, no one was as thrilled as I was about this. I don't draw on my walls any more but I have spent most of my life since then making art.
I love to work in water colors and oils. I especially like to create surrealistic dreamscapes, though sometimes just painting outdoors from life is good. I make dolls a lot too because I like creating characters, and I enjoy the kind of folky feeling they have.
