| Your Personal Biography |
My intention as an artist and a continuing student of art involves a passion and a life goal. My desire is to fully immerse myself in art and the study of art. The longer I live the more necessary art-making becomes.
Upon returning to school eight years ago, I realized that being an artist was something I could no longer ignore. I could no longer put on hold my desire and passion to create. Through my association with my professors and other artists , I discovered a family of inspirational brothers and sisters.
My paintings, drawings, prints and pottery reflect experiences and moments of growth and abrupt changes in home, children and friends. My art is not only necessary, it is restorative.
While translating these changes into visual thoughts has been therapeutic, my goals as an artist have become focused in terms of using narrative aspects of animals and the human figure in an autobiographical way. Exploring these ideas are moments in time that involve a lifetime of exploration, as well as an “expansion” of artistic realization.
Anticipation of my growth as an artist will involve a refining of my capacity to grasp these moments and find a more efficient way to illustrate these ideas and well as validate and communicate. I feel that my study of art has not been completed and that it is necessary to continue this path of intellectual involvement. A new level of excitement continues to emerge with anticipation, as I continue to submerge myself in my art.
