Artist Statement:
As an animal lover, I have spent my life in the company of many types of companion animals, and they are an integral part of my family. You most likely view your companion animal(s) as an important family member too, since you are thinking having a portrait of your pet painted, and you are considering a visit tp Gallery Allee at www.gallerallee.com.
Creating an original portrait of your companion animal begins by sending me several close-up, clear photographic images with clear eye detail. You will not want to use flash photography because the retina of the eye will appear white in animals such as dogs and red in other animals such as rabbits. In cases like these, I will not be able to paint the eyes with any amount of accuracy. It is best to take photos of your pet in natural, soft sunlight, preferably in the morning or early evening. After you take several photos of your pet, you will need to mail them to me. I will return your photographs to you when I have completed your painting. In the interim, you may upload electronic images of your photos by using the Electronic Photograph ...

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born in Michigan, where I lived until my family relocated to California. Shortly after our arrival, we settled in one of Southern California 's many beautiful beach communities, an area that lends itself to enjoying outdooor activities. My childhood friends and I had great times riding our bikes around the town, and we usually included one of the neighborhood dogs on our excursions.
During my college years, when I attended undergraduate and graduate schools at UC Irvine, my combined school and work schedules precluded me from having pets, curtailed my outdoor jaunts, and allowed me little time to spend on the arts and crafts hobbies I had enjoyed since my childhood. Once I completed my formal education and began a full-time career, however, I resumed my part-time painting and crafting hobbies. Most recently, I opened Gallery Allee to focus more of my time on painting. Nurturing animals and painting their portraits have become the center of my life. I feel blessed that God has guided me to these rewarding and worthwhile undertakings.
My husband and I share our home with several animal companions, including two dogs, a cockatoo that I taught to play basketball, and a chinchilla. I enjoy sharing our home with these furry and feathered friends because they enrich our life. People often tell me endearing stories about their pet. I would welcome the opportunity to hear about your pet so that I can do my best to capture the spirit of your special animal companion in an original, oil pastel painting.
I hope to talk to you soon.
