| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
Ed Knippers and Rudy Medlock taught me what it meant to be a Christian artist. My other friends during my college days, Mark Anderson, Don Shriver, Andy Camizzi, Keith Holz, Mark Howell, Marvin Stevenson and Karen Bramer encouraged me.
C.I.V.A. continues to encourage. |

A BRIEF AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF
Glenn Howell
Born: 1956 in Steubenville, Ohio, USA.
(eldest of three) and graduated from Wintersville High School in 1974 with a major in art and journalism.
I attended Asbury College, KY beginning with a major in Art Education and later changed to Studio Art. There I studied under Rudy Medlock and Ed Knippers. I left Asbury and in 1982, graduated from Youngstown State University, OH with a B.F.A. in studio art and photography.
I moved to Minnesota in 1983 where I built the art department from scratch and taught art, photography, painting, and pottery in a Christian school to 7-12th grades and painted houses for a living. The Mentor Program for the State of Minnesota asked me to be a Mentor which I considered quite an honor. .
I moved to Virginia after the flood of 1993 where I managed mounting and display departments for photo/digital labs, working with The Pentagon, Corcoran Museum, Air Force, Treasury Dept., Channel 4, etc. and continued painting houses for a living.
In 1995, I married Ginny Hickey and inherited six incredible grandchildren.
After a ladder accident, I have called it quits to house painting and am working as artist/owner of G.O. Howell Photographic Art. I do freelance work for a local newspaper (Fauquier Times-Democrat) occasionally, get published occasionally (most recent: Omnibus IV, editors Gene Veith/Ty Fischer/Doug Wilson--published 2009 by Veritas Press Inc.), and sell my prints any way I can. I also lecture on Photography as Art. (inquire for information)

REPRESENTED IN: Caulfield Gallery, Washington, VA.; Pearmund Cellars, New Baltimore, VA; The Studio Frame Shop, Warrenton, VA; and The Winery at La Grange, Haymarket, VA.
MEMBER of: C.I.V.A. (Christians in Visual Art).
*My work continues to find itself included in the collections of many patrons of fine art and should be in yours. I am always seeking more representation and am ready to start teaching art again in the right school.
