Biographical Note
Born in Philadelphia, PA with his early years spent in 'South Philly' and Upper Darby, PA. 1957-60 Monsignor Bonner HS, Drexel Hill, PA.
BFA 1964 from the Philadelphia College of Art, now known as the University of the Arts.
In that same year moved to New York City and worked at the Pratt Adlib Press as a instructor and printmaker with the Master Printer James Lanier.
In 1966 first solo exhibition of paintings at the Pratt Institute Library Gallery.
Inspired by Hugh Wiley, Albert Gold, Carl Holty, George McNeil, Jacquline Clipsham, Philip Pearlstein, Sidney Goodman, Vasilius Toulis, Gabriel Laderman, Jimmy Ernst and the Rocky Road of Life. 1971 received an MFA from Brooklyn College.
Between 1968 and 1981 he was painting, drawing and producing my first collages, while living on the Rockaway Peninsula, Queens, New York.
In 1983 traveled through China where he visited the tomb excavations of Qin Shi Huang Di at Xi'an.
This stay included three provinces and five cities throughout China and Hong Kong.
Since 1985 he has a studio and lives with his wife and daughter in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
