Artist Statement:
My background in illustration led to working in many mediums over the years, and I have come to find digital photography and composing most satisfying. While I am inclined to shoot most anything, I am most compelled by images that portray the balance between the finite and the infinite. I have come to love the beauty of impermanence, and have learned that beauty is flawed and perfection nonexistent. There is a thin line between what is absolute and impermanent, between creation and destruction, and between what is beautiful or repulsive. Underlying all is a creative force that connects us.It is this force that I look to reveal in my work. My work is multi-layered both in content and meaning, as is our experience in life. It is not my intention to depict reality, so much as the underlying truth of impermanence, and the moods and feelings that accompany my experience of this. My goal is to connect with the viewer, and expand their experience of seeing and feeling.
The interpretation of each image is left to the individual viewer's personal vision, imagination, and emotions.

| Your Personal Biography |
Gwyn is a lifelong artist and creative explorer, with a passion for images that tell a story about the human condition. The story of birth, life, death, and rebirth as they weave through our lives, and the world around us. Whether the image is of a person, landscape, building, or just a shaft of light on a weathered wall, there is the same sense of life and impermanence, and the fragile balance between modernity and the natural world.
Gwyn holds a BFA in illustration, as well as being a self-taught photographer. Her current work draws on all her skills, creating multi-layered digital images, and painterly photographs. Gwyn works full time as an artist in her home studio, just outside of Philadelphia.
