Artist Statement:
The emotions and humor that are put into my artwork expands the limits of reality with whimsical twist. The imagination flourishes and shows you an alternate world, bringing the illusion of human emotions and actions to clay sculptures.
Being a Second-Generation Traditional Ceramic Artist, I learned the differences in clay and the history as well as the processes of ceramics. This information compels my artwork to take alternate turns while still maintaining the traditional qualities that I learned to love early in life.
My 2-D and 3-D painting are more on the abstract side of life. The normality of the everyday is altered and turned to create a beautiful and often times odd view of the world around us.
I am inspired by many artists and their works of art, some of which include: Mr. Walt Disney(for his amazing imagination), Michelangelo, Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, Salvador Dali, Edvard Munch, Patz Fowle and last, but certainly not least, for my wonderful husband, my best friend and my personal muse, Danny, for his inspiration, imagination and support in everything that I do artistically or not.
