Artist Statement:
WILDLIFE AND NATURE
I want to share the beauty, that I see all around, with the world.
I have a great awe and respect for nature and the animals found within it and wish to convey that world with the viewers in a way that puts them into the painting, into that world where nature abounds. Not as a mere viewer but as a part of it. What greater joy is there than to feel the vastness of nature expand within your soul and take you to places that you not only enjoy with your sight, but also with your soul, and a place you can visit time and again.
Portraits
With the portraits I not only want to achieve an accurate likeness, but also a deeper look into the person(s). I use the setting as much as the person to create context that will narrate the story and feel of the painting, to entice the viewer to look within themselves as well as outwardly, to make a connection, instead of simply looking at a pretty picture. It's this deep intimacy that resonates though the portraits and allows one to truly feel the depth of human frailty as...
