ARTIST STATEMENT
I believe that artists can play an important role in helping women of the Third Millennium realize their full potentials. As an artist I work to create a visual experience that will encourage women to feel confident that they have the ability, strength and resources to take control of their life. Ultimately, this can help us all become more whole and more human.
The purpose of Isis Rising is to create images to help women visualize themselves in a liberating light that is inspiring and empowering. To achieve this renewed sense of self the viewer is encouraged to associate the female images in these paintings and drawings with the goddess Isis. The images here are not an idealized vision of the goddess but rather a very human person who embodies various qualities of the goddess. In this way the images can provide a way for the viewer to identify with the goddess figure in Nature (Meditation gallery) as well as on a personal level (Woman & Mirror, Communion, Femina, and Blue Lumina galleries), and spiritual level(Mandala gallery).

| Your Personal Biography |
Kimberly Berg lives a Zen-influenced life of voluntary simplicity in the Adirondacks of northern New York. He is a calligrapher and published poet as well as an artist.
In the early 90’s he became interested in drawing the human figure after working with another figurative artist. He was attracted to the emotional depth that the figurative artist can capture in such paintings. Kimberly’s preferred mediums are charcoal and pastel used in a minimalist style, usually with a very limited palette.
Kimberly has had paintings accepted in numerous competitions in USA and Canada and has received several awards. His work has been shown in regional solo and group shows. As a member of the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts at Plattsburgh, NY, he has been in charge of a life-drawing group for the last five years. He is affiliated with Writers & Poets, Women’s Caucus for Art, the American Association of University Women and the Society for Art of Imagination.
