Artist Statement:
Art is not bound only to appreciation of beauty and aesthetics. It is a dynamic zone where existing symbols influence their connections, through time. The visual reality creates an illusion governed by these symbols. The urban scenario and its impact on our thoughts is reflected in some of my work. ...

| Your Personal Biography |
Coming to terms with change is a challenge. The fun is in the ‘process’. It is that ‘change in process’ I enjoy in clay. The recent series of sculptures, ‘Disco men’ and the voluminous wheel thrown vases, ‘Jar of Secrets’, is a representation of my perception of situations. The ‘Disco men’ portray the rhythm one sees in movement. When I look at people dance in the flashes of disco light; they pose each as a picture; leashed energy, frozen in moments.
I began with watching village potters back in Bangalore at ‘The Valley School’, three years ago. Working at ‘The Golden Bridge Pottery’ in 2007, under the guidance of Ray Meeker, Deborah Smith and assisting resident Australian artist, Peter Thompson for an Anagama firing, resulted in a group show at ‘The Attic’, Delhi, 07. I have exhibited with Claychakra and numerous potters. I now work off my studio in Mumbai, Studio Karva.
