Artist Statement:
Oddly enough, the natural world and poetry are some of my inspirations. Diatoms, Sea Creatures, Amoebas, and Insects meld with and nanotechnology to produce what could be described as a self-directed organic robots.
Using an opaque projector I transfer the images from my sketchbook to plywood and cut out the many shapes with a scroll saw. The layers are glued and nailed together - sanded, gessoed and painted with enamel.

| Your Personal Biography |
Born Somewhere in Virginia, on Saturday, the 27th of July - 1963, Jane began investigating the inner workings of machines as soon as she was able to hold a pair of pliers. With her fathers workbench at her disposal she taught herself how to draw and later to dismantle and occasionally reassemble house hold appliances. Moving on to construction she started building strange works with scrap wood and discarded items of interest. She began her studies in Fine Art at Cal State Fullerton and moved to San Francisco in December of 1989, right after the earthquake. She spent 10 years in the video game industry building high-poly environments and objects for cinematic sequences. In 2006 she came across the Bay Bridge and began photographing the East Bay punk scene.
Jane has participated in several group shows in the Bay Area.
She lives in West Oakland with her SuperAwesome Husband Greg |
