Artist Statement:
I am drawn to surface erosion and decay, the fragments and imperfections in the rural landscape. The square format is evocative of cataloguing artefacts or samples, or mapping territory. It also plays on the deception of scale; a close-up section of a bigger structure. The use of a horizontal is a point of juxtaposition, fusion or tension, and inevitably alludes to the horizon.
