Artist Statement:
Jen was born and raised in New
York City. She came to San
Francisco in her mid-twenties
and immediately claimed the
Bay Area as her home.
Through photography, Jen
strives to tell the truth of
what she sees, to distill the
every day into its essence of
form. She believes that each
person and every moment is a
unique expression of life and
undeniable beauty. Beyond
words, beyond thought, is a
visual language that cannot be
articulated but is experienced
and understood nonetheless.
Visual imagery speaks to us
only to the degree that there
is something in us that it
recognizes--something both
intimate and private, yet at
the same time universal.

Jen’s Bare Truth photographs
are for women. Allowing them
to express their spirit,
personality and their inner
and outer beauty. To find
perfection where there is no
such thing, to liberate the
soul, mind and body. She
believes in celebrating the
strength of womanhood,
motherhood and life. None of
the people Jen photographs are
models; they are all women
that have chosen to take the
journey of self-discovery.

Jen was born and raised in Manhattan, NY. She came to the Bay Area in her mid-twenties and immediately claimed the Bay Area her home and has been here ever since. Jen has had a camera in her hand since she was a young girl and has been documenting her life and life around her ever since. With no traditional photography training, she is self-taught and is continuously and excitedly striving to learn and expand her focus, process and practice.
Jen works as a freelance photographer photographing documentary style pregnancy, portraiture (in studio or on location), weddings/commitment ceremonies and assignment work.
