| Your Personal Biography |
Jessie Boone grew up in Cincinnati, OH. In 1998, she moved to Athens, OH to attend Ohio University. In November of 2002, she graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in painting. After graduation, Jessie became a resident of Cincinnati’s gaslight district, and worked for ArtWorks, a non-profit organization in the downtown area that supports/provides public art for the city. ArtWorks also teaches inner-city children whose schools have lost funding in the arts, and gives them job training necessary to their future development.
In September 2005 Jessie moved south to graduate school at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her paintings continue to be figurative, but have grown to encompass her surroundings and the interactions of the people around her.
Jessie recently became a part of the Red Kite Studio, working as curator and director of the student run space. Red Kite Studio is located at 1522 Bull St., and has been in operation since May of 2006.
