Artist Statement:
Being a fundamentally shy and
reflective person it becomes
an explosive need to express
and communicate ones innermost
rays, reflections and shadows.
The canvas becomes an outlet,
a place to act out, throw up,
and confront those emotions
and thoughts. The demand to
communicate puts you in a
state of bliss and you lose
track of time. At a certain
moment, each shape, stroke,
and color suddenly takes over;
the painting reveals itself
and creates a life of its own.
It becomes an expressive
personal collaboration of art.
Looking at a blank canvas I
don’t have a preconceived
image in my mind, rather a
general notion of what I want
to achieve. At the same time
I’m open to changes, like
waves, I know will come. When
an inspiration comes
accompanied by its emotions,
it pulls the subject out from
inside letting it flow through
my hands to the brush to the
canvas. Often I reject the
brush to feel closer to the
subject to be able to express
more directly. The subjective
point of it all is sometimes a
selfish outlet, but more often
a catalyst for others to feel
and see what I cannot see. ...

Why Did You Become An Artist not provided

Your Personal Biography Swedish born contemporary painter and conservatory trained actor Jonas Fisch discovered his love for the arts at a young age, was inspired to pursue his passion by renowned artist and grandmother Ann-Marie Sjogren and has parlayed that early fascination into promising careers on both fronts. On the international art scene since 1998, Fisch has consistently sought out new ways to challenge himself as an artist. Whether in front of a canvas or on the stage, he uses his art as a creative outlet to share his innermost dreams and desires. 'Being a fundamentally shy and reflective person it becomes an explosive need to express and communicate ones innermost rays, reflections and shadows.
