Artist Statement:
Finding the details in the
most ordinary things and
re-presenting them in an
interesting way is my basic
approach to making art. While
my subjects and themes vary, I
am most captured by the human
form and its subtle expressive
nature. For me people draw the
most emotion, and quite
simply, I believe art should
affect or elicit some emotive
response from its viewer.
However, my inspiration comes
from a variety of subjects and
I try to bring to the viewer a
sense of awareness in all my
paintings. Realism best
describes my painting style,
and my subjects alternate
between portrait, figurative,
surrealism/narrative, and
cityscapes.
