| Your Personal Biography |
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised in its suburbs, Jeanne Guerin-Daley returned to the city to attend the Philadelphia College of Art. Two years of city life was more than enough for her, an ardent nature lover. She transferred to a smaller college in a smaller town, the Memphis Academy of Art. Located in the middle of Overton Park, this institution was what she needed to develop her art and feed her soul. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in painting, she then spent many years in the work force, learning on-the-job the offset printing trade. Moving back to the home town area led her within a year to meet her soul mate and she spend the next chapter of her life creating people instead of artwork: four babies in five years!
Now that the four teenagers can make their own lunches and even do their own laundry, Jeanne is answering her call to art. Currently, she divides her time between several art-related projects.
Recently introduced to the old photographic process called “cyanotypes”, she has been using pieces of her garden to make one-of-a-kind cyanotype prints that celebrate the images found in nature. Along with continuing studies in paint, pastel and colored pencils, sometimes inter-mixing them into the cyanotypes, she continually searches for new ways to express the boundless essences found in our natural world.
