| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
I think I have to admit I'm most inspired by my adoration of and respect for women. Beyond that my favorite work is to take this image of a woman, real or imagined and to couple that with the fantasies of nature I see in my head to try to express what I see in her. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I don't know if I had a choice. I was drawing as early as I can remember. My life took other turns and directions but I have always painted and drew through it all. There is satisfaction in expressing myself through painting. There is also a sense of personal pride (or ego) to know what is there came out of my head and was created by me and me alone. I also have always enjoyed the privacy that is necessary to be a painter. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born John Earl Entrekin, in Watertown, NY. I graduated from a small junior college with an associates degree in Advertising Art and Design. After graduation I joined the Navy and spent the next 7 years in the submarine service. Since then my life has been very diverse and well traveled. (Often called colorful.)
Always interested in painting and never far from an easel, I took painting as a full time career in 1980. Starting with New England style watercolors and later egg tempera then moving to oils and working with figure painting.
I have always been fascinated with the styles and techniques of the old masters. My painting style reflects this both in my portraits and other figure work. I also works in what might be called a completely different style of what I call my 'swirly' paintings. These are abstracts done in oils with an undulating movement to the lines that allow the viewer to create his or her own interpretation.
